Stunting among children in Indonesia has reached alarming levels, becoming a pressing national health concern. Addressing this issue requires innovative solutions that go beyond traditional interventions. Raising awareness and providing personalized, on-the-ground education are crucial steps. However, pediatricians face significant challenges during their daily consultations, such as insufficient growth tracking and the overwhelming number of health apps.
This UX case study delves into the heart of these challenges by empathizing with the pediatricians' pain points. Our goal is to design a digital product that seamlessly integrates into their workflow, empowering them to better track and improve children's developmental outcomes. By understanding and addressing the unique needs of pediatricians, we aim to create a powerful tool that contributes to a healthier future for Indonesia's children.
Stunting among children in Indonesia has reached alarming levels, becoming a pressing national health concern. My thinking process at this point is to capture a stakeholder in the vast health human resource realm whose needs are still not being met, address their most important concern to find a solution for the entire digital healthcare ecosystem.
I chose to refine my initial design brief from the google certificate prompt in order to find the most suitable target user in need of a UX solution in the current market.
I wanted to a firm understanding as to why I chose my desired user.
My thinking process at this point is to capture a stakeholder in the vast health human resource realm whose needs are still not being met, address their most important concern to find a solution for the entire digital healthcare ecosystem.

Through multiple stages of interviews, I identified experienced pediatricians as the primary demographic for this case study. Physicians at various career stages consistently reported challenges in managing pediatric care due to insufficient tracking data. Common pain points included outdated growth charts, inadequate tracking and education on stunting and malnutrition, and an overwhelming number of apps and software tools. These issues resulted in longer consultation times and hindered the establishment of trust with patients.

From the user interviews, I’ve learned that there were three key tasks that pediatricians have to preform throughout their day. During key task 1, data entry that occurs inside the consultation room is usually a key reason for a prolonged consultation, pediatricians have to navigate between multiple medias containing important data that could aid in the children’s diagnosis.
Problem area 1&2 occurs outside of the consultation room, where it both relates to parents and other medical health professionals not keeping accurate data of the child’s development.

He also doesn’t need to worry if the parents forgot to bring the development book, since parents usually never leave home without their phones. Through several rounds of interviews, jotting down their working environments, getting to know their pain points, I wanted to learn as much as I can and explore all possibilities as to who I’m designing for and asking the right design questions.
